A Day without Internet

               If you are reading this page then, it’s already a day passed in my life with the absence of internet. You know, this crisis created by the network provider retards, has been my source of inspiration today ... and of course the source of the time too. Yep. 

               The foremost thing that I carve is Tweeting which involves creation of funny 1liners, sarcastic quotes. And yes, how can I miss the bitter criticism of the trends. They complete my day! Secondly, Reading blogs has become my obsession since last few months. It develops a feeling of amity underneath my skin. I’m not aware how this system works but one thing that I am sure about is the solace that I get.  Moreover, it would be an insult if I forget to mention the social networking sites. They have completely enslaved me. It had been just 5-6 hours the connection had gone, but this deficiency was getting on my nerves. My condition resembled like the one of a drug addict who is deprived of his cocaine stash. Yeah I saw some flicks and sitcom episodes, but in reality I knew, I was just killing time.

               On the contrary, it had an upbeat effect. On the top corner of my room, there was a bag I abandoned years ago. Contained in it were colours that were once used to create fine paintings which would bring lustre on my face! Suddenly there was a turbulent flow of thoughts in my mind. Without giving much of thinking, I laid my hands on it. And in a matter of time there it was... A mystical landscape.  Yes, “Adversity had led to creation.”  Finally a sound sleep followed it.

              I don’t know, whether I killed time or it did the same to me, but yes I survived. And as it is said it’s the end that matters. So I’m Alive, Kicking but firstly praying for the internet connection to get started!!!

Mysterious Force Empowering Around Us

                         

                     “MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU”! These legendary lines of the classic saga STAR WARS would have been heard by all the Sci-fi freaks. Jedi masters like Yoda, Obi Wan Kenobi & Sith Lords like Darthvader, DarthMaul are overheard saying the word Force lot of time!! What these people call as Force in the future is what we call today as intuition! Intuition is the premature form of the force. Yep, George Lucas, Its “intuition”! 

                   Starting with a scenario, I suppose we all have faced; choosing between 4 options of an unknown question whose answer does not lie in your universe. Out of desperation we choose an option, and then we think, have I done it correctly or not?? Yep...There are all those evil thoughts of getting wrong going in your mind!! We change the ANSWER! Till now everything is going merrily and you are flying!! Frustration comes the moment you check the solution! The answer that you guessed earlier turns out to be true and in turn you turn out to be wrong! Ever wondered WHY DID U EARLIER CHOSE THAT OPTION?  WHAT MADE U CHOOSE THAT WITHOUT KNOWING A SHIT? That’s what is called as ‘THE FORCE’ or ‘INTUITION’! Let me define Intuition first. It is unconscious thought process that produces rapid solution without any inferred knowledge. Intuition is an energy created by all the life forms which exist; it binds and penetrates from all of them across the universe. Many times when you act out of your intuition, it helps you and even the resulting act favours another individual. This is how we can relate the combination of force which binds every creature in one way or the other.  You can’t really justify its presence but even the brainiest scientists believe its existence! Master Yoda also explains that "you must feel the Force around you." Buried deep within each and every one of us, there is an instinctive, heartfelt awareness —if we allow it to. Yes, you must trust your instincts and let the thoughts from the inside drive you. Researchers & statistical analysts believe that if you do so, most of the times you’ll get what you desire. A person who develops good intuition and relies on it can know anything without the boundaries of space-time. Wait a minute, it doesn’t mean that you can predict the future every time... Yes, I know u guys were thinking that!!! There is only one way to develop this force within you and that is on empirical and statistical basis. It works looking back and analysing into the archives. Secondly trust it and I am sure it will reward you well.

                   Of course these Jedis & Siths are far more advanced with the force as they can use it physically! I bet we can evolve and adapt ourselves in the future to use the force that way by using it for ‘mind control’, ‘levitation’ Etc... Etc..!  [Pardon me just got carried away, way too far!! ;-)]

PS- This was just a random thought from an idle mind. Any influence from this does not involve or relate me!

10/90 PRINCIPLE

            


                Here's an interesting article from a renowned philosopher and socialist Dr. Steven Covey . Its called the 10/90 principle.

So what is this principle ??


        "10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react"


What does this mean?



                 We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.


How? By your reaction.


You cannot control a red light. However, you can control your reaction. Do not let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.


Let us use an example:


You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit zone. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started te rrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?
 

A. Did the coffee cause it?
B. Did your daughter cause it?
C. Did the policeman cause it?
D. Did you cause it?

The answer is “D”.

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day.


Here is what could have and should have happened.



Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, “Its ok honey, you just need to be more careful next time”. Grabbing a towel, you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minute s early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.


Notice the difference?

Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED.

You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Multiple String Theories converge to a unifying M-THEORY !!

Strings

 

The physical idea is utterly simple. Instead of many types of elementary point-like particles, physicists postulate that in nature there is a single variety of string-like object. The string is not 'made up of anything', rather, it is basic and other things are made up of it. As with musical strings, this basic string can vibrate, and each vibrational mode can be viewed as a point-like elementary particle, just as the modes of a musical string are perceived as distinct notes!
String theory solves the deep problem of the incompatibility of the two fundamental theories (Einstein's General Relativity and Quantum Field Theory) by modifying the properties of general relativity when it is applied to scales on the order of the Planck length. Modern accelerators can only probe down to distance scales around 10^-16cm and hence these loops of string appear to be point objects.
However, the string theoretic hypothesis that they are actually tiny loops, changes drastically the way in which these objects interact on the shortest of distance scales. This modification is what allows gravity and quantum mechanics to form a harmonious union.
There is a price to be paid for this solution, however. It turns out that the equations of string theory are self-consistent only if the universe contains, in addition to time, nine spatial dimensions. As this is in gross conflict with the perception of three spatial dimensions, it might seem that string theory must be discarded.
This is, however, not true.

 

Multiple String Theories

There is however more than one string theory. These theories are classified according to whether or not the strings are required to be closed loops, and whether or not the particle spectrum includes fermions (particles that makes up matter). In order to include fermions in string theory, there must be a special kind of symmetry called supersymmetry, which means for every boson (particle that transmits a force) there is a corresponding fermion. So supersymmetry relates the particles that transmit forces to the particles that make up matter.
String theories that incorporate bosons only are no longer popular as they require 26 space-time dimensions and a particle with imaginary mass the tachyon. There are quite a few superstring theories that make sense mathematically which only require ten dimensions. A few of the differences between them include, theories with closed loops only and others with closed loops, which can break into open strings.
Theories with massless fermions only spinning one way (chiral) and string theories, which are heterotic, meaning right moving and left moving strings, differ. Different combinations of the above properties leave us
with 5 plausible (mathematically) theories.

 

M-Theory

There was a difficulty in studying these theories: physicists and mathematicians did not have tools to explore the theories over all possible values of the parameters in the theories. Each theory was like a large planet of which we only knew a small island somewhere on the planet. But over the last four years, techniques were developed to explore the theories more thoroughly, in other words, to travel around the seas in each of those planets and find new islands. And only then it was realised that those five string theories are actually islands on the same planet, not different ones! Thus there is an underlying theory of which all string theories are only different aspects. This was called M-theory.
One of the islands that was found on the M-theory planet corresponds to a theory that lives not in 10 but in 11 dimensions. This seems to be telling us that M-theory should be viewed as an 11 dimensional theory that looks 10 dimensional at some points in its space of parameters. Such a theory could have as a fundamental object a Membrane, as opposed to a string. Like a drinking straw seen at a distance, the membranes would look like strings when we curl the 11th dimension into a small circle.
